Monroe Sushi is attached to the "Smokey Joe's Hotel", locating on Kenting main street, near KFC. It's easy to find, but occasionally the restaurant's entrance will be blocked by the vendors during the night market hours. So keep an eye out.
The decoration is quite Western and colorful, I don't actually understand why they decorated a Japanese restaurant like this......don't you think it feels so un-Japanese?
But anyway, the modern style is not similar to other traditional Japanese restaurant, so it's pretty hip and fun.
Like the name of the restaurant, Marilyn Monroe is also a present~ lol
The foods here are little bit expensive, it's like NT 50~70 for only one nigiri-sushi......damn, why are Japanese foods always so small huh? I feel like I have to eat at least 20 if I want to be full.
They also offer many different kinds of foods, so you have more than enough choices. It's good that they are all really delicious, I think it's worth it.
Especially the "Sukiyaki" (Japanese beef hot pot), I love it so much! The soup is made by sweet soy sauce with a lot of onion, it tastes very good.
Awww man, feel hungry again.
But they don't offer any hot tea or water for free (usually they do in other Japanese food restaurant), so I could only order a cup of juice for a very expensive price : ( ~
The salt-baked mackerel is also delicious.
The seafood pancake is just O.K., not really special.
Normally, visitors likes to eat sea food or night market foods in Kenting, because they are both the most well-known foods here. But if you've already came to here many times, I suggest trying some different restaurants, as you will definitely get another special experience.
Therefore, I recommend this restaurant, and I really hope you'll like it!
